** Karol Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1 premiered in 1922, not 1917. The first performance was given by Polish virtuoso Józef Ozimiński with conductor Emil Mlynarski and the Warsaw National Philharmonic. While the concerto was composed in 1916, the premiere was delayed due to World War I and the Russian Revolution. The work was dedicated to Paweł Kochański, who provided technical advice during its composition and later wrote the cadenza.
At the concert on February 25, 1917, the announced performance of P. Kochanski was replaced by Saint-Saëns' “Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso” (soloist George Enescu).
